Hello folks,
I have decided that it is time to pass on my much modified Mk3 Escort Cabrio.
This is an unfinished project!
Details are:
2.0ltr Zetec conversion - running on original PATS equipped management
Unused uprated organic clutch
Series 2 RS Turbo LSD equipped rebuilt gearbox
Janspeed exhaust system
Fully Superflex poly-bushed suspension
Series 1 RS Turbo front tie-bar suspension arrangement (homologation part)
Orion 1.6i rear anti-roll bar (none fitted as standard)
Chassis Dynamix 1" lowering springs and AVO adjustable shortened shock absorbers - Cabrio specific handling kit
Series 2 RS Turbo / Sierra XR4x4 front brakes
Orion 1.6i Master cylinder - Larger diameter than RS Turbo version!
Braided brake hoses
Power roof
Electric windows
Mk4 Electric Mirrors
Heated front screen
Recarro front seats with adjustable seat base
Mk4 Dashboard conversion
Solenoid boot release
De-locked doors
Mk4 High capacity washer bottle
Mk4 plastic wheel arch liners
Mk4 fuel tank and filler neck
Ignition barrel, boot lock and fuel cap barrel all built new as a matching set so one key fits everything!
Condition:
The car has sat idle for a number of years now due to wife and kids which is why I am now looking to sell it.
The shell has no major grot and is good in the usual places.
It does however have to areas in need of attention.
There is a bulge in the near-side rear wheel arch where a previous repair (bollard strike) is lifting.
The near-side A post is bubbling on the inside of the door shut by the base of the screen.
The paint is pretty flat but I will try to polish it up prior to selling, I beleive it will shine again as the shell was restored and resprayed many years ago.
Seats need re-trimming.
Roof has split along a seam.
Needs general finishing.
C.V. boots have perished but the joints should be sound as the car hasn't been driven.
Tyres may also need replacing.
The car owes me an absolute fortune but I haven't a clue what it's actual worth is hence this post.
Lots of details and photos (from a while ago) on my website, link in sig, click on 'Escort Upgrades'
The car has also been featured in my monthly column in Retro Ford magazine.
I'll post some up to date photos as soon as I get chance to take some.
Thanks for any replies,
Smiler.
