This is my friends Vauxhall Chevette that he bought last year.
He used it over the summer just as a little bit of fun, always wanted one so he had to get it out of his system and it did that well. She drives really well, feels nice and tight if I'm honest - I was really suprised. The original 1.3 engine starts and drives as it should and sounds in good health. She has been sat for 3-4 months now and not started in that time, so we went to start her up the other day and after a couple of turns of the key she started straight up and drove 10 miles to my house absolutely perfectly
Last year it had a recommision before he bought it, having some welding underneath and then undersealed and then the body has work with some obvious filler and smoothing with a custom gloss grey and the suspension was lowered with some lowering springs. The 2 first pictures are of it earlier in the year in her prime. The lower pictures of it are how it stands now as he's removed his wheels - this is literally all he's done so the new buyer can choose their style of wheel, bolt them on and away you go.
She has now run out of mot & tax and served her purpose, no fault of her own - But he simply has too many cars so this and his Nova are the 2 that will be going. Obviously having no MOT i am more than happy to speak to anyone over the phone whilst walking round the car and I will give you a complete genuine and un-biased description of how any part of the car is. What I can tell you from crawling on my back is underneath is seemingly solid. The bodywork filler has started to crack in places near the windcreen as pictured, and he also took to rolling the rear arches slightly which has unfortunatly caused the paint to flake. The engine bay has had a blow over in primer, and will want tidying - but saying that its fully functional in good condition. She even has all her reg marked original glass which i was suprised about!
The engine and gearbox all run straight and true. Engine sounds great for a 70's car, before he got the car is had had a service with renewed water pump. Gearbox is tight, release bearing is slightly noisey when off the clutch.
Overall its a tidy enough little car for very sensible money. Its priced sensibly, and with very little work would happily be on the road again. She runs and drives really sweet so would only be light work and would be a great car as a nice runner with its original engine, or a nice redtop would go in there a treat!
As said i am more than happy to provide my mobile number to any seriously interested parties and take you round the car over the phone. Also absolutely more than happy for any inspection, this is a very open sale. Only reason I am selling these for him is I have a desk job so can answer emails/phone calls easier and I also owe him a few favours!
Its priced at £1100.
