Quite mad really how badly damaged they are, as from the original video they don't appear to fall that hard to twist and crush that badly but obviously it did happen and the damage is pretty bad as restoring them would mean a new car however wouldn't need to be road legal I presume.
Also as top gear proved that most of them would probably still start up with duct tape hammers and a fresh batteries lol

The forces involved in the sinkhole really are impressive, I'm not at all surprised the cars ended up so badly deformed. What I surprised about is that the oldest of the lot seems to have got off the lightest, it must have only just fallen in the hole as it was filled.
Apart from morbid curiosity, I have to wonder why they made the attempt to save the buried cars. Sinkholes have enough compressive force to destroy a house, what were they expecting to find down there other than mangled wreckage? If they ever find the last one it will be little more than a pancake of car parts.

I seen the video where the Roadkill guys drove an old knackered Corvette to the Museum. But weren't allowed to drive the car into the sink hole. They see some of the saved cars, that are on display, in the condition that they were lifted.
Some of the car were on loan from other people. So probably they asked for there car to be lifted and repaired.
I can imagine that the environmental agency would force them to remove all the cars and any contaminaton from the soil
