Downloaded for a proper browse later, 2 things strike me though...as well as the cars we regard as classics now being scrapped, there is, as HoTWire said, a lot of modern cars in HUGE quantities, and todays dross is tomorrows retro...I mean, MK2 escorts used to be banger racers etc, RS2000's broken up just for their nosecones...and now look...kerching! Soon that will be, I don't know...a micra super S spec* lets say, or an unmolested saxo VTR...they will be poor quality wobbly children's play pony soon. The other thing is that it shows just how hit and miss that howmanyleft site must be, if you see the amount of variations on a simple car just like a bmw 318 or a mini on that list, just depends how the person filled a form in! *potentially worst example of my point ever...but I'm at work and my head is somewhere else

Only two Vivas apparently. One Cressida. Two Singers (one of which was a Shamois(sic) It looks like we didn't lose too many rear-engined Skodas (no Estelles, no Rapids two 120s and two 130s). The Triumph section makes for some scary reading though! Twenty Acclaims! Sixteen Heralds, Twenty-one Spitfires!!!
I think the scariest thing of all is how poor the people who did the paperwork are at spelling. I'm guessing the scrappies did it?

"BMW 2-AXLE-RIGID BODY" Take your pick, rules out all those six wheel Bimmers though, or the BMW Hovercraft.
Quite fancy a Bedford Other too. All these apparent mistakes, discrepancies etc do kind of make me wonder how good DVLA's record keeping is in general. I mean all the details of these cars & vans would have already been on their computers wouldn't they? Or are these "errors" (cough, cough) on somone else's part?
One way or another that was a lot of Kias sold.

its not like they were all cubed though was it. the stuff of interest went to specialist breakers, meaning a glut of parts to keep other stuff on the road. they didnt park all the minis like that for no reason.
plus look on the bright side if youre an owner of one of those models,, it got rid of a lot of the lower end examples, pushing up values of better examples.
