I recently bought a mk1 caddy with a 1.6td engine conversion. There was a few spots of diesel on the flier after running from day one but the leak has developed into a constant trickle when running. This was probably
Not helped when I started using veg oil as I know this can damage seals. The fuel is coming from the bottom of the pump through the drain holes (I think that's what they are). Before I remove and strip down the pump does anybody know if the symptoms sound like I could get away with replacing just the main o-ring?
Also the engine refuses to rev past a certain point. This equates to about 50mph in fifth gear but is the same in all gears. I have tried adjusting the idle and max fuel screws but this has no effect on the top end; the sensation is similar to a speed limiter cutting fuel and/or boost. Just wondered if this could be linked to the fuel leak?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
