Throttle pulley - ideas and where to buy ?

Hi all

The idea is to ditch the factory linkage set up which operates twin SU carbs and upgrade to a cable type system for a more responsive pedal feel. I have been looking at ideas of how to attach the cable onto the SU carbs and came across the set up below which essentially uses a throttle type of pulley system. I tried the usual weber, dellorto, Motorsport oriented shops but was unable to locate a similar kit. Anyone out there who knows where I can buy one ?






Harada sells these as part of a complete solution for twin or triple carb set up.

If all fails, the bracket is easy to fabricate and I could possible modify a S14 throttle pulley

Not listed on their online shop. Will have to email them pictures and see what they say.

Possible source of parts could be a motorcycle breakers, problem being, could they be adapted to so what you want.

The dual su carb setup on most british TC cars (MGB to name but one) has a cable 'cam', could you not use something like that?

Thanks, will have a look at how the MBG set up works and perhaps nick an idea or two.

@ Randy >> thanks for the link. Most if the DCOE/DHLA set ups work whereby the throttle type attachments link directly to the carb body. On the SU's this isnt an option unless i modify and i was planning an off the shelf solution (being lazy )

The MGB set up could work quite nicely if you have a heatshield or something behind the carbs to route the cable through
