Folding chair is a great idea.
Some other less than obvious useful stuff:
Big brolley (use it as a little tent if it's pouring) Sheet of polythene or folded up cardboard (if you have to lie on the ground in good clothes) Ratchet straps (also serve as an emergency tow rope)

Big brolly... Check
Something to lie on... Check (car cover)
Ratchet straps... Good idea.
My car is going to be rammed with stuff after the weekend haha.

I've found that carrying nothing makes me a bit more focuses on maintanence especially preventative .

I've found that carrying nothing makes me a bit more focuses on maintanence especially preventative . I used to carry loads of stuff but found I inevitably needed a tool / part I hadn't got I did chuck a basic toolkit in the back of the 'E last year as it was a fairly fresh build but the one breakdown I had was the gearbox epically sh!tting itself on the way to the retro show, and no amount of gaffa was gonna fix that! So as a rule it's just a torch and trusty swiss army knife that I never leave home without

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place

I hardly carry any tools these days, unless I'm going racing. Normally enough to change a wheel and that's it. The cost of fuel has made me aware of the effect of un-necessary weight on fuel consumption! However, cable ties are light and my other favourite is a good coil (maybe 10 feet) of .8mm MIG wire, it doesn't melt when you use it to support your broken exhaust like cable ties do!

couple of spanners 10mm 13mm 17mm flat head & phillps screwdriver a few random allen keys, (no idea why i have no use for allen keys) jack and brace that's about it, absolutely no use whatsoever when the head gasket went 100 miles into a 200 mile journey, had to turn the car round and go back another 100 miles with no headgasket, stopping at every single service station on the way to fill up many bottles with water, oh boy was that fun...

I must admit that the weight factor of how much stuff I carry around is something that makes me want to purge everything from my car, but the amount of times something random has happened over the years and I've needed to either find a workaround or wait 3 hours to be towed by the rescue truck makes me something of a hoarder. I've got stuff packed in my car that is nothing to do with cars at all, but I will have looked at it at some point and perceived a situation where it would be an ok invaluable tool.
I'm going to purge though. I need to get rid of stuff. The endoscope feels like a tool too far.

Factory tool kit/spare/jack Electric tyre pump Sometimes a set of jump leads AA Card and mobile
But I only drive moderns atm so generally if anything breaks it either can't be fixed at the road side or it will get me home lol.
