Long scaffolding boards are the way forward. I know all about scraping/not fitting over stuff, its common ground now haha. Yeah I'll get used to it haha, speedbumps will become more annoying too.. (any updates on the 205/MX5 btw?) That looks so much nicer than the steels IMO. Liking it. Glad you kept the side trim, it really helps make it what it is Thanks I'm glad I did too now, I can't believe I thought I was going to leave it all off.. good job I didn't!

With the 5 now on ATS Classics it meant the banded steels weren't being used.. So take this: Remove the ugly brown 15's it had, and replace with black 14x8/9 banded steels = (its on a brick because it's far too low for the jack)Beached on the driveway of course Aaaaand done. Photos don't really do it justice, it's seriously low and looks pretty mean

Loving those ATS wheels, that's a great choice or rim.

Just a current prioritised to-do list so I don't forget.. 1. Re-lower torsion bar 2. Shorten springs/Switch to shorter shocks and springs 3. Paint new rear bumper and put it on, + quarter panel 4. Tuck exhaust up closer to the body and/or shorten it and exit by the side 5. Lots of cleaning and tweaking minor things In the meantime, lots of driving it and enjoying it; feels the best it ever has right now but an engine swap would make it even more fun but that'll probably wait until spring/summer

This angle is growing on me.. Just waiting for some satin black (zzz @ delivery time but its cheaper so) to arrive so I can paint the new bumper and put it on. Spot the height difference between the '76 and '77 Mk2's in the background too..

Is this the new rear bumper?it looks smooth ! That's the one it's always had on, it's in really good nick but it's the pre-facelift one. Granted it is correct for an '87 Renault 5 but mine somehow left the factory with a facelift one on the front so I thought I'd get a facelift one for the back too. Cheapo paint I always use arrived by the time I got pack so I put a base coat on, it's just the lighting that makes the bits on the car look darker but it does match when you see it in person. (and for some reason the side trims are prone to always getting dusty etc) I'll probably pop it on over the weekend after another 2-3 coats. The bumper is a nice quality too, it's identical to the originals but it's a repop made from a stronger type of plastic so less prone to cracking which I've had with 2 of my old ones.

Really frosty this morning.. Gave the interior a quick clean when I got back later in the day. The driver's side door card was like that when I bought it. I have a spare set ready to go on which I'll probably do this weekend. Interior is 99% mint aside from that, the carpet under the mats looks brand new. Quite a nice place to be inside, I've always loved the quirky dashboard on these.

Really nice, the ATS suit it well. The interior looks mint also! I like a wooden steering wheel, had one on my R11. Just should not be too little if there's no power steering Too bad the side exhaust at cgb motorsport is for R5 turbo (and not cheap), would be nice to hear what it would sound like on a regular C1J 1.4.

Ta! I've had it forever and it's faux wood but looks the part. Feels good too, my old R5 had no ps and this one does have ps but both felt good. As for the side-exit, Mark's R5 on here has one, though his has the b18ft engine, it sounds awesome and I may or not be just a little jealous of it haha.

I had the cherry bomb on my campus out the rear with no filter. Sounded naughty. C1j with a sidey is nice aswell. Just go straight through to make it sound the curse word. Its the 8 valve that does it. Just look at scratchers

I say that. But the exhaust is the lowest point on the car. It stops me going lower. That and the sill

I'm thinking of going out the side, just behind the door and tucked up close to the sill for clearance probably? Anything's better than what it's got right now haha

If you have a look underneath it goes straight back then bends 90 then 90 again. I just cut it at the first 90 and put it on. It just happened to have the same run in the volvo

Ooh thanks that sounds good, I'll have a look tomorrow. The Shuttle's needs redoing too because it broke off about 3/4 of the way down, must have been the 4th or 5th time it's happened

Laziness prevailed and I didn't really do anything car-related aside from seeing Matt's Datsun for Oil Cooler musings.. Of course I only remember to take a photo as he's driving it back into the garage.. + misc photo
