Bookmarked, good luck with the project. My Dad used to have a 2.0 ltr mk 5 years ago and I remember him getting a 5 speed serria box to put in it.

20 meens 2.0L yep and they never came with a 5 speed so somone has been playing with it already, which is nice, saves you doing it

Good on you for saving her, always will have a soft spot for cortinas especially mk5, I had one of the last 1.6 a crusader on a Y plate in Caribbean blue, never forgotten that car will look forward to updates.

anyone know how to tell if a head has been made to run on unleaded,ive researched a bit online and its looking like the engine was built in 1986 from the codes , so maybe from a sierra ect ? not a problem but would be good to know

Not quite only the EFI had the egg shapped inlet ports and even those came in leaded and unleaded, if it's a factory unleaded head it will have a stamping "by" the rearmost (No4) Ex port, your looking for an L, P, PP, R, RR, anything else it's a leaded head, now if it has been converted afterwards you need to look at the Ex valve seats, they will look seperate to the head as if somone had pushed inserts in which is what they do to convert the head. That head is deffo a sierra one as it has the wider cam cover gasket ledge but the block is a cortina one, if the block was sierra it would say 205 on the side not 20

not 100% made my mind up yet but it wont look like a crusader i know that ,want it lowered ,vinyl roof on nice polished alloys ,possibly red for paint ,and whatever other ideas come along as it progresses ,but things could change as they do lol

not sure mate , this started as a 1.6 4 speed ,but now a 2.0 5 speed type 9
