Chug, chug, chug. and its at 70mph! Car spec below and jet sizes. '89 VW Golf MK2 GL, in a 'mild' state of tune. Any ideas where to go next?  |

Is the dizzy advancing properly? I'd be wanting a bit more advance to get the burn cleaner.
Also if mid range is too rich but top end is spot on then a smaller main jet will be required but this will lean the top end. Fitting a much smaller air corrector will then re-richen the top end

The dizzy vac diaphragm is advancing fine, however, I have the vac advance attached to the only place possible and that is the manifold of inlet port #4.
Really wanting to junk the dizzy and move to megajolt + EDIS when funds allow, but trying to get the most out of what I have. Static advance was hopeless when I tried disconnecting it and playing around with different timing settings (well, believe it has centrifugal and vac advance).
Your suggestion sounds good, will dig around for a set of 115s or 120s and some 165s/180 airs. I also have some F9 emulsion tubes coming in the post and some F7s but haven't tried these as it will worsen the situation in theory. Worth a shot too? Never compared one to the other for AFR, would be a good study.
