Hello,
i am brand new to this forum stuff but I was hoping for some good sound advice?
i have a 1972 VW bay window and when my engine shot its bolt last year I managed to get a 1973 Porche 914 1.7L engine fitted in as a replacement. We are just trying to sort the carburation out now.
i was hoping for a little more humph (49 to a massive 80hp is already a quantum shift!) but I don't want a dragster either. Just something that can get me and my family laden with camping kit up hills with a reasonable fuel consumption thrown in.
What carbs are best suited for this combination - progressive or twin, Weber of Dellorto ?? Please help?
thanks
