Bit rusty (no pun intended) as it's been a while but....
From memory, a capri 2" lowering spring drops a mk2 cortina by 3". How much would it lower a corsair? This is assuming the a Corsair uses a mk2 (can't remember if mk1 is the same) Cortina spring?
I guess what I'm trying to get at is will a capri spring fit a corsair and drop it by the same increments? D'oh.
:-)

Here you go, 2" rs2000 (think same as capri) on my mk1. 1600e leaf springs on back (no blocks). Mk1 cortina and corsair suspensions are the same, the MK2 front struts and springs are different.

That's confusing as I've fitted capri springs in a mk2 before as you have in your mk1 (RS escort as capri are the same, reacquainted myself with the Burton part numbers) yet you say they're different? Argh lol

^ they make lots of different poundage rates in the lowering springs
I'd Just bite the bullet and make some coilovers from the legs and set it how you want it to look

Yep that's good advice, I really want mine 3" now but I can't be bothered changing them again so will just stay like this.

Last time I messed with a Cortina I got Gaz coilover made up but the time before I used 145lb Capri springs with shorter strut inserts (but can't remember for the life of me where I got them from). I just want a simple spring swap for now so will go with whatever fits the Corsair.

I'm just using standard inserts, with the springs stainless cable tied to the cups, it seems okay. You can also use volvo 240 inserts and top mounts. There are AVO aftermarket shocks etc but I think they are quite pricey.
