looking for a project I can do with my little bro for his first car, as this is his first car cheap insurance is essential, Ideally after a big-ish car (he's 6'4 so isn't getting in a metro lol), been looking at Peugeot 405's and Citroen Bx's, but anything is considered. got around a grand to spend, but the cheaper the better.
Would prefer a car with a MOT, but cars with little work to pass one might be considered, closer to Grantham the better, willing to travel within 50 miles of Grantham

Within the 50miles, ish, of Grantham.
Not a particularly retro, W reg Xantia Saloon, 2.0HDi (90). Just passed 80k, now on something like 80,050 but will go up as in use daily.
Only known issues;
Something to do with the AirCon/Demister function for the front screen, but I've got parts on order for this. Rear height adjuster is just starting to weep, but have a replacement to refurbish. Front height adjuster needs slight adjustment as the front end sits too low currently.
£700 would be lovely, as I need to get a van.

Don't let the height restrict you too much haha, I'm 6"3 and fit in my Renault 5 easily and that's tiny. I'd say something like a Pug 205, maybe even a Citroen AX. K10 Micras are a safe bet too, and all can be had for above/below £500 AX Potential:

Cheers for the offer mate, but he wouldn't be able to afford the insurance on in Jxke- We've ax's and K10 micras in the past, I happened to crash in a K10 and it was the most scariest thing ever lol, dangerously slow too haha

I got rear ended in an AX by a rover. The rover came off worse. No damage to the ax apart from a bumper pushed down slightly.
