The driver´s side rear corner has been badly repaired in Sweden.
Left hand side rear light is modified so that it will fit to the dented rear panel, it´s has sagged around 10mm and rear light won´t fit decently.
As a result of this, water has leaked between the metal and rear light cluster seal to the trunk and there is surface rust under the carpet.
So that´s on to do list also.
Also noticed there´s some old repair also on right hand side trunk floor... 32 years will definetely leave its marks.
Here´s dented left hand corner under the light. Lots of filler, some has find it easier to saw the rear light and apply thick layer of filler, to make the rear light "fit". Wouldn´t it been easier to just straighten the damaged corner right away?
I´m more and more convinced that Golf needs full metal respary and metal work next winter.
To block water leaking into trunk I did temporay fix with silicone, no more leaks!
See also the buckled metal above the light....
