Possibly a stupid question but I'm assuming that my recently purchased rover 25 being as it has got 2 working fobs it should have central locking as well?
I know the fobs work(well they make the lights flash anyway) and when its armed the alarm go's off as it should, but the central locking doesn't do anything at all. Neither with the fob or key, so before digging too much I thought id ask the question.
Thanks

I would say yes it should but it would depend on the spec the 1 litre jobbies may not have everything like that.
Both my 214s had remote central locking, I'd think it would be something to do with the solenoid.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

Some didn't have central locking. Has it got a lock on the passenger side exterior door handle?

If it's got the key on the pass side then it's unlikely to have central locking (although forgive me if I'm wrong, I left Rover in 2001) Does anything else lock/unlock (or try to) when you operate the key in the driver's door? The lower spec models didn't all get locking.

No nothing at all tries to unlock when using the drivers side key..... just seems daft to have it so I can arm the alarm but leave the doors unlocked.... and yes the alarm works as my neighbours will tell you!!!
I did think fords were tight at one time not fitting a solenoid to the drivers door as well but I think rover's just surpassed them.....

I agree, it is daft, but towards the end nothing that Rover did really ever surprised us!
The alarm should arm & disarm with the key in the door (has a microswitch behind the lock barrel) but you'll still need to keep the remote fob on the keyring as it holds the transponder chip which knocks off the immobiliser.
