Hi I was driving along today and suddenly wouldn't go into gear properly and the clutch pedal is hard when at the bottom of travel,fluid is ok master moves and no leaks visible,clutch was replaced recently (5 months ago) when we did the manual conversion,it hardly goes in reverse,and feels like there is no biting point almost,it was very sudden and was driving and smooth on the clutch up until it happened it was all very sudden,any idea what it may be? think I'm going to have to remove the gearbox to see which I plan to do tomorrow

bleed the slave 1st , make sure nothings come adrift around pedal , then pull the box out and see if the bearing/pressure plate has met its match,.

If it has a dual mass flywheel, that could of let go. Similar thing happened to a friend recently and that was the cause. Just thought I would throw that in  |

Well first op was the master and slave both are now brand new and bled so gave it a spin and its exactly the same think going to have to drop the box

Sometimes the push rod from slave cylinder can break, as often made from metal of questionable quality.
Does clutch pedal improve if you pump it a few times? Is it then easier to select reverse? If so, air is getting in somewhere.
Is flexi hose from slave new? They collapse inside and end up working like a one way valve, that makes the clutch action drag and gears hard to select. You should defo replace that first, as it is often overlooked and can appear fine from the outside.
There's no dual mass flywheel to worry about though.

Slave is brand new so can't be that,
The hose isn't new ive inspected it but I dunno might be worth a try but it was very sudden while I was driving instantly a change in the ability to get in gear,but the slave moves in and out I think it's something like the clutch fork or release bearing but that was replaced with the clutch not long ago

What brand were the cylinders? As I say, the push rods on some are made of monkey metal and can bend or fracture. Unfortunately you can't discount some parts just because they were new. Especially if they are pattern from GSF or Euro. Does the clutch improve if you pump it up?
The problem with the hoses, is that they collapse internally, so a what looks like a perfectly good hose is actually stopping the fluid passing through it as it should.
The other thing it could be is the thrust bearing not sliding properly on the input shaft, so the clutch is dragging?
Obviously it's not easy to diagnose via the net but really all depends if the problem is hydraulic or mechanical?
Does seem likely you'll need to drop the box though.

I agree the slave could have broke and ive just inspected the outside but it does move the slave but it may not be moving it enough,it doesn't improve which makes me think it's not the hydraulic side of things,thrust bearing and clutch fork is what I think it is,but really don't want to take the box out again but it's gonna have to be done I think,but il try everything before I do
