Hi guys, the front brake caliper on our Lexus is sticking,I renewed the slider pins and convaluted rubbers a while back and this cured the sticking for a few months,it has started to stick again but this time it's one of the pistons in the caliper sticking,I can get a caliper rebuild kit off ebay so I plan to have a go at stripping and rebuilding the caliper, anything I need to look out for? I have heard that ABS brakes are a curse word to bleed,is this true and if so why? I have rebuilt brakes on old cars plenty of times, should the Lexus be pretty straight forward or not? Thanks in advance guys.

What grease did you use on the sliders and were the pins as clean/rust free as they could be? If it was copper I would say that is your fault ; I have deseized callipers by simply reapplying the grease but using Brake (Ceramic) grease with the results lasting quite a while (in the case of my old 205, years instead of months including the car being sat around for quite some time). The same goes for the sliders for where the pads sit.
If it were me I would try that first and possibly then just buy a new calliper if the prices are comparable to other normalish cars out there (for most cars the callipers seem to be £40-70 exchange).

as for rebuilding your cali , its not too hard
keep it all super clean , soak the new seals in fluid or sometimes they come with some jollop to soak them in
if you use compressed air to pop out the pistons , use a block of wodd to sit where the pads did so the piston cant fly out like a bomb
