Hi all, we have just bought a trabant which has a transverse fronto spring. What is the correct way to straighten the spring to lower the car?

Looking at a picture of a Trabant front spring it could be lowered the same as Herald / Spitfire by use of an alloy block between the subframe and spring. Obviously will need longer mounting bolts and assuming enough clearance.  Basically the same way you'd lower rear springs albeit only one and transverse  |

Another way is to take the spring apart and turn one or more of the leaves upside down, not sure how well this works though as it might make the spring softer.
I had a Herald spring recambered, I think that involved heating it up and bending it and then heat treating it properly again.
