Hi! Does anyone know a reputable published source that I'd be able to use to date my rover motors I've bought for a project? My Engineer needs it so we can comply to i's emissions design rules Cheers, Rob.

if its in a pre 2002 vehicle then it just goes on a basic emissions test unless its the original engine type, post 02 goes on basic cat test limits.

These guys issue certificates stating the age of British cars, based on original archives. Might be worth asking if they have any archives on engines? Heritage Motor Centre

would also help to know the original donor vehicle the engine came from. That would help track down some peculiarities, as the Rover lump was different to that of the Landrover one in regard to waterpumps and dizzy. Not to mention inlet manifolds and carb choices being either SU or strombergs.

I've asked a guy I know at our govt transport section and he's found the motor was originally in a p6b according to the rego. Now, how to get a 'legal' copy of that info I wonder lol?
