So... I've been practically given a rover 218d, non turbo diesel, 40k, never failed an Mot in its life, nigh on mint, used to be my nans.
What can I do with it modification wise? I've only ever seen one lowered rover 200 and there isn't much info online.
I've got an idea of what I want to do.
. Cav slabs, or another wheels, open to suggestions, want something retro .Straight pipe with a 'shotgun' style end, with angle of course . Different steering wheel, maybe a Nardi? possibly a snap off hub . Different seats, not really sure what I want though, don't want fixed bucket seats, something comfy and supportive, I have a lot of seats in my unit I could use (RX8, Alfa GTV, Various mercedes) . And of course, lowering, not sure on how to go about this, there doesn't seem to be much out there apart from lowering springs, but I don't reckon that'd be enough for what I want.
Theres other little things too, but not really worth mentioning, so If anyone has any examples of modified 200's that'd be great

Wheels with as much offset as you can squeeze under and slam it. Otherwise your curse word in the wind.

Surely if it's a 218d it's going to be a R8 shape?.

They did them in bubble shape too. No they didn't, the 1.8 diesel was in the R8, the 2.0 diesel was in the R3.

Front suspension is the same as the bubble 200/ZR, you can get Gaz coilovers cheap 2nd hand sometimes but they ride like curse word when dropped low. Rear is multi link iirc, never tried but I bet EF/EG Civic coilovers would fit.

Read the title and thought someone had tried to make a rover coupe look like an audi r8.

Nowhere near inspirational but i had a 220gti a few years back. The only problems I had were down to the engine, I would love another in diseasal or Honda flavour! Can't go wrong with lower and wider, unfortunately mine died before this stage, just got a bit faster, then crashed into so I put a facelift front end on, then the cambelt went, then someone hit that whilst it was broken down lol. I gave up at that point Don't though...do a nice one, they are overlooked! If you can find the gti seats they were excellent... Also top trivia - the rear lights are used on the Jaguar XJ220...
