Well I suppose I'd better actually post one of these up. . . I've had this for a couple of years now, my first/only car on the road, and it's been my daily since the middle of last year. Near enough completely standard, other than the wheels, and the fact that someone's fitted (i think) Ghia clocks in it, and the deep dish Mountney that I fitted. It made the long journey from West Sussex to Shelsley for RRG14, and was quite possibly the slowest car up the hill (going from the videos I've seen) sorry for poor quality Instagram pictures. And regularly gets out and about with other old cars There's not really much to say about it other than it's a slow (957cc), rattly old Ford. . . .but it's great fun.

Thats really nice. I learnt to drive in my Mums 1.1 and had big plans for it should I ever get my hands on it. It was that Terracott red/orange colour that would have looked lovely with some XR2 arches on it. Mums one wasn't fast but it was pretty nippy due to the gearing.
Do you have any plans for it ?

Plans have been pretty much the same since I got it, GAZ coilover set when I can afford (coilovers up front but only shorter & stiffer springs/shocks on the rear), I've got a rear anti-roll bar to go on it, possibly different carb/carbs (I've got the rare twin DCNF manifold for it), and a different exhaust when I can be bothered to have a measure up, buy some stainless pipe and get the TIG welder out.
It's surprisingly good to drive as it is, not quick by any means but it corners well, just not as good as I'd like it to. The other fiesta in the pictures is my brothers, an 1.1 on GAZ coilies, twin DCNF's and a home built 2" stainless exhaust, which is good for 70hp, up about 15 from factory and equal with a standard 1.3

That is really very nice indeed...!!!
An early Fiesta is a real thing of beauty and they are so darn rare nowadays that keeping one like this is great!
I will look forward to seeing more of this...

Love this! I have a lot of love for the MK1 Fiesta, probably won't have one now though with constantly climbing prices!
Will keep an eye on this ....

Nice that, good to see it being used too rather than hiding away in a cozy garage Even been out in the snow today! Cheers all, it's far from perfect. . .it's had repairs and been painted to a slightly sub-standard level, but it's a good, useable car & it'll get any work it needs as and when it needs it.

Cracking little car, my old art teacher had one of these in a similar colour and I remember how cool it was.
Love the polished Wellers too, never seen those before.

Love the polished Wellers too, never seen those before. That's what I thought they were at first, they're actually Mangels, chrome is getting a bit scruffy now but they were already a bit flaky when I bought them. . . .£80 from Arena Essex swap meet i think

Love a mk1 fiesta, had a ghia a few years ago with a 1700cc crossflow in place of the 1300, went like the clappers I've seen your brother's around a fair bit (I live in Forest Row), think I used to see him regularly on the Balcombe road a few years back??

I'm sure everyone's seen his car about Presumably you're aware of the monthly Riverview Cafe classic car meet in forest Row?

Presumably you're aware of the monthly Riverview Cafe classic car meet in forest Row? Yeah, been there a couple of times... Family commitments and lack of car have ruled me out recently. Thinking about it, do you know Datman? I think I may have seen yours at his place??

Well, no big updates just yet. . .though i did pass 35,000 miles on the clocks that are currently in there (ghia clocks fitted at some point in its life, I think the actual mileage is still only around 40,000 though, having looked at previous MOT's) Did give it a clean earlier, in preparation for the monthly classic car meet tomorrow If anyone's local/interested, it's from around 12ish at the Riverview Cafe in Forest Row, East Sussex, RH18 5DW
