hi there!
got me a p100 recently and I figured I have to do something about how it rides. feels mighty weird sitting ina pickup thats got the rear so up high and front down low and because I travel roads less traveled (=curse word) with the truck I cant exactly put lowering blocks in the back. so that leaves me with jacking the front up, how should I go about doing that? i kinda want it leveled with the back of the truck.
any car/van/truck out there might have taller struts/springs than a p100? I spose the std springs/struts are taller if not the same as on a sierra. but how about a v6 model? -I dunno about just putting in stiffer springs because... well.... that would make the ride stiff as heck which would be dang awful on worse roads. don't think it would bring the front up much anyway, would it? infact, any ideas on how to go about jacking up the front are welcome.
ps this is the newest car/truck ive ever owned, newest i had before this was a 75 dodge dart.... torsion bars were easy on lowering/raising ride height ;P

Hey man My front springs are ok as far as i know, just passed inspection w / em too. I'm in finland so you know. Ive seen couple other p100s with new std suspension so even with new springs the front sits too low

What engine is in it? diesel springs are harder and thus taller than petrol vesions, when i converted mine to TD the front sat real low (1 finger gap between the tyre and arch) so i fitted TD springs and now it's more like 3 fingers betwix tyre and arch, i have spring assisters form when i had the petrol springs in there i could fit if i wanter another fingers worth of gap. The P100 uses a spacer between the Xmember and chassis to raise the front end (that's why P100 engine mount rubbers are taller than car ones) so you could ad an extra one in there if springs don't make the differance but then the engine mounts would need spacing the same amount to keep the prop running true. There's a P100 breaker on ebay who has a fair few in his yard and all sorts of nice parts like truckman tops, alloy bucks, tippers ect clarkestons

thanks, didnt think of the spacers, ill look into that. I'm running on 100/102 profile (whatever that means) C tires (185/14). also yeah I'm on gas, coulda bought the 1.8td but I heard so many raw opinions on just how often they blow up so I went with the gas ohc. got a standard 205 block with a sierra 205 head and a 32/36 weber. anyway, as mine sits right now and I even got those ridiculous rubber spacers between the coils... I can just about ram my fist between the arch and the tire and I'm still looking to get a 2" or a so lift up front. Would probably be a good idea for me to get a picture of the truck so youd get a better idea. ive had a couple of chevys and dodges before but never a ford mini truck. have to say its a fun little thing despite all.

That's about the same ride height at the front as mine although my rear sits higher but i had new springs a few years back, although one of my rear bushes is knackerd aready from all the scrap loads i've run in with it

nice I'm hauling pretty light cargo with mine, few bales of hay and straw every week. i got my self a second set of spacers for the front but I'm thinking, well, do you think the steering column would be able to take that? now, i know its got that axle whatchamacallit in it but regardless. just seems awful short. not gonna do anything about where the engine sits. its going to be tight going putting that extra inch between the frame and front. found some springs for a diesel sierra as well, hoping to get another inch of lift out of that and rubber spacers as well. I'm getting kinda tired of sourcing parts for euro pickups tbh, few and far between. randown 6.2gm diesel chevys had the same kind of mpgs I'm getting out of this which is like 23-25 ish. not that the consumption is much of an issue (anywhere above 19 is ok by me) but anyway.
