Picked this little motor up a few days ago, been looking for a while for a good one, but they where either mint and over priced or cheap and rotten, so I looked further afield, Malta! After seeing pics and agreeing a price, this little beauty was on a ship and on its way to me! It was shipped last Friday and arrived this Wednesday! A quick wash and a new grill and it comes up mint! Plans are to get it UK registered, lower it slightly, refurb and fit my banded steels and just a good clean ?

Looks really good! Top find!!
Hope you don't mind me asking but what kind of money were you in to for the Malta-UK shipping??
Cheers, Baggers.

Amazingly tidy. And the dark red interior as well. Perfect!

Shipping from malta worked out at €500 (about £375) which I thought was very good!
All in, including buying the car (and shipping), which was filled with spares like panels/trim/glass/bumpers etc I paid £925

I saw that gem for sale and thought it was a complete bargain! You've done very well there indeed...!!!
These early Metro's are becoming rarer by the hour so good ones like this need to be saved!
Brilliant...

Of all places I bought it from facebook! It's been advertised on classic cars for sale website, and also the metro owners club website for a while, but seeing as I had a bonus from work, I thought I'd invest it in something :-)
The guy I got it from has a zircon blue mk1 1.3 S also for sale currently, few bits need doing on it but he will supply all the parts too, he wants £750 for it and shipping is included in that price too!
I'm in the process now of registering it with HMRC, then DVLA, then once it's got an age related plate, it's Mot time! Really can't wait!

Wow! Scrubs up well, it looks like new. Now rust proof the hell out of it!
Did the front bumper get changed? It looks different to the ones in the pic in Malta.

yeah that looks like a basic series bumper (with the indicators)
My gran had a nice alfetta gtv in Malta. I would have loved to ship that back to the UK, but she gave it away...

The guy changed it as the blank bumper without holes in it is hard to find in malta, so fitted a more readily available type, but I have the original bumper, it was included in the sale along with loads of other parts, I'm gonna get the bumpers repainted and new end caps soon, then it's registration time! :-D
