Anyone know how to find the paint colour name for my car? The x308 is a nice jag but I prefer the shape of these models,,,plus my budget was £1500 no more, so I saved £750 of the budget! But you do have an X308? According to a quick google search, the paint code should be on the VIN plate in the door frame area? I did search for a couple of paint charts but they all seem to be american places, I'd presume the colour codes are the same though?... www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/jaguar/Alternatively if you've got the code, you should be able to take it into a Halfords and they can search it on the paint mixing PC, used to take me all of a few seconds to find the paint name

Hard to tell from pictures, seems a tad overpriced, but they seem to be creeping up in price,I may have got lucky with mine as the guy I bought it from couldn't affird to insure it, I'd go and view that one in person

Low mileage/low number of owners does not always equate to no rust or no faults

Exactly, I have owned better high mileage cars than some of the low mileage low owner cars, always view a car before buying, we've all bought blind...well I have but luckily not been had, Jaguars are a different kettle of fish though I viewed some real rubbish, expecting too much for my budget? Maybe but I've found many tidy cars over the years for sensible money and I'm pleased with the jag,if it goes bang over the summer so be it! It was cheap!

My knowledge of the X308 is rather limited but parts are easy to get for the earlier XJ40 and X300 models without hassles and problems, so I'm surprised to hear you're struggling with the X308.
When you're new to a make/model, it's really useful to be a member of the specific forum, I have found. That way you get to understand the car much faster - and where to buy parts from, than you can on your own.
Which parts are you struggling to find?

I'm trying to buy an abs module and wheel sensors,, so far the specialists have sucked there teeth and quoted what I consider silly prices, and eBay has proved frustrating , hoping to find a complete car in a breakers so I can see what I'm buying,, just been given info on a car coming in this week at a local yard, off up there thurs afternoon after work

Superb mornings work at a local breakers, I got there as an xj8 was pulled in, already new it was on its way, got to work straight away and removed every part I needed including the abs module and multi change cd, I got all the bits for £40 , who needs eBay?!!! Had to hack open the boot lid as no keys came with the car, the yard owner said do it he wants the car gone by Monday its not worth having in his yard....
