I find stuff like this fascinating. The whole Austin Rover / MG Rover story makes me sad, and bits of history from the company's demise show up every now and then to remind me. I wish I'd have gotten to explore Longbridge before the Chinese buyers rolled in.
I hope all this info goes to a good home.

More than likely, a lot of the MG-R stuff that appeared on eBay over the few years after closure came through the back door.
Put it this way I know of a couple of members of a well known MG-R forum that were stealing stuff by the van load night after night for weeks after the closure around 2005-06. They even had a couple of complete cars away that they broke for spares. I know it's true as I seen it all with my own eyes in their unit. Naming no names obviously.
Security was very poor to say the least and the site was just to huge for them to be everywhere at once.

Being pendantic , the drawings will say property of Austin Rover or similar on them , so unless they can be proved to have been bought they are owned by who ever has the rights to them .
If there is enough interest i would not be surprised if they get in trouble for it .

hi all the 6R4 side of this lot (if a full metro being donored to use as the prototype in paperwork form detailed ..) would be a good one for someone to print up sections in a booklet form and have it for sale for a small fee on e-bay as us poor fans of these cars could if ballsy anuff use these to help build a replica or sumit though prob a completely different way they built those up panel bodywork on subframe presumably ,though in sayin that if any group b cars wer floorpan and chassis modified i'd reckon the metro and manta would have been as opposed to the lancia peugeot which were subframe and composite panels of some type in later years ..yeah either way a good find an well worth bein saved imo ..can't see 5k maself seems tryn abit hard there ,will surely only hurt any interest ,..low 2's n even then steep !
