Can't you just do the head?

Yes, later engines can fit but you'll need to use the ecu and loom etc. Best bet is just to do the head. If you fancied it though, you could put an f4r engine in it

I was going to say I would be tempted to buy a head and throw that on. There may be a few heads on eBay you can buy for the car. If it were me (some may disagree here) I would get the new head checked for straightness at a machine shop and reface it.

I'd be looking further into what is actually knackered, might end up just a couple of valves and new rockers? Why chuck an engine at it straight away?

Probably a lot cheaper and faster to bung an engine in it. well, probably even quicker to frag it and buy another

all inlet valves are bent as the belt tensioner plastic pulley let go,not really worth expense of overhauling head as would cost more in bits than an engine was my theory.cheers for replies
