Some fantastic pictures there. If you could buy an old house nearby and get a job at the track you could almost live in the past ! All I need is a smallish stately home with a big driveway and I will be sorted.

Goodness, why did I forget this was on... the type two detectives beetle (the black one) is a real beauty, I have been watching the developments of it's build on facebook. Good to see the tyre marks on the dolomite, bet there was some close racing!

Nice pictures 'Bizzle. Quite a few familiar cars from the Donington Historic.
I'm waiting for the year when it is bucketing down with rain before I drag the family along....

I was there on Saturday - bloody freezing but great. After 16 consecutive years of FOS and about 14 of the revival this is the best Goodwood event. Pricey but no crowds, you can stroll the pits/grid, great racing and no sponsorship / hospitality. That Type 2 detectives bug is owned by Drew Pritchard from Salvage Hunters, it didn't qualify on Saturday.

£63 for sat or sun it will be the best show you go to all year though possibly not if its raining a lot and doesn't stop, never happened to me though, don't take a clean car though, if you're parked in a field, it'll be covered in dirt and grass

Nice pictures 'Bizzle. Quite a few familiar cars from the Donington Historic. I'm waiting for the year when it is bucketing down with rain before I drag the family along.... At least if it is raining it would be warmer than this weekend.... Afraid my picture taking skills are not a patch on these but I will contribute the following along with a story... In 2004 a very good friend of mine raced this at le Mans. And for the sharp eyed amongst you the car next too it was raced by another friend at the same event. At the time I was writing a spoof motoring column with another friend of mine which ended up having a life of its own and spawned a whole series of T shirts and stickers. Welcome to the weird world of Journoman... So, what has this too do with an Aston Martin Le Mans car? Well Glad you asked. After a few beers we thought it would be a good idea to add a Journoman sticker in the drivers window as a way of bringing a little 'extra' to the event and a maybe a little luck. Needless to say neither car managed more than 1 lap before expiring... Anyway... walking through the paddock and there was the the Aston. Walked up to the drivers door and... there was the Journoman sticker still resplendent after 11 years Made me laugh as what was stuck in the window as a joke now looks as if it has become part of a historical race car... P.

P. I was at LM in 2004, I'm guessing it ran in the gp c support race. The year mcnish smashed into the wall after 30minutes.

^That Minor amuses me greatly. I really can't picture them being used by the police at all, except maybe to roll up to domestic disputes with a bobby in a 'custodian helmet' and a lot of swagger. ^^What butt does that darker grey car belong to? I have been contemplating a different style of arch mounted tail light and am liking the look of that.. Great photos, as always!

*phew* thought I was a bit strange getting excited by that pair.. well, I am a bit strange, but at least I'm amongst good company. The Silk Cut Jag and the grey Bentley (or is it? I'm assuming it is) are also two I'm enjoying seeing pictures of from this meet.

I was traveling down the A3 (towards Goodwood) on that afternoon and some of the machinery I saw leaving that area made me want to cry tears of pure joy...!!!
That is what makes Goodwood or any historic race track/event so vital... The opportunity it provides us with to see unique, superlative vehicles is just unrivalled!
I wish I could have been there but seeing these pictures puts me in the paddocks straight away...
