This popped up on my newsfeed and sparked a discussion amongst friends. As many of us know, there are numerous friends and family in Moderns that don't understand our passion, they ask questions about where we find leaded fuel, mock us for the cars reliability and wonder how the car managed to get so rotten? This lead us to question, what would the 'normal people' be asking, or berating classic owners for in 50 years time? The fact we have to service them every year? The fact they need oil at all?! Surprised that the car has 3 pedals or less than 10 speakers in the audio system? What do you think they would be asking, what would they mock us for, and what would they admire! I'll start, E46 M3 CSL - "Only the roof and bumper is carbon fibre? My '63 Fiesta has more than that!"

'You have to drive it yourself, it doesn't drive itself ? Isn't that dangerous ??' Oh this. Being in tech I'm already surrounded (in the internet sense) by people who think that in 10 years no one will be driving cars, insurance will be free and we'll all be travelling 150+mph to go anywhere. Also by extension this is going to cause a collapse in capitalism somehow. Anyway my money would be on "Where do you get petrol from?" .. or "Have you converted it yet?" ... converted to what still remains to be seen, probably electricity though.

"11mph in a 10mph zone? Who do you think you are then, Stirling Moss?"
(Let's face it, they've been saying it for the last sixty years so they'll probably be saying it in another sixty!).

Anyway my money would be on "Where do you get petrol from?" .. or "Have you converted it yet?" ... converted to what still remains to be seen Mr. Fusion? Or perhaps a hover conversion? Oh wait - we were supposed to have those this year...

"How can you drive that without power steering" "Do they still make tyres that small ?" "I'd never feel safe in a car without airbags" All of those apply now I don't think there are any current cars that would raise these questions in 50 years "Radial tyres? Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them" " That's the power unit! Whats it doing in the storage compartment?!" "How can you see anything with those laser headlights? You should consider a quantum luminescence retrofit"
