Hopefully this is the correct section for this question.
When I finally get my new project I may be looking to get some steel wheels banded as there seems to be very little choice for alloys in 4x114.3 fitment, so I figured I may just get the standard wheels widened.
So the question is, who is good to use for the process, as I want something safe and leak free?
What sort of price is it to have 4 wheels done?
How long does it take roughly for them to be done?
Thanks in advance!

45 per wheel for 13s, 50 per wheel for 14s and so on
Not the quickest, but the best imo

Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar,
nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey
not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails,
not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman

Very little in 4x114.3 ?? That's the problem, and from what I can tell, a lot, if not all, the 80' and early 90's J saloons I'm interested in, seem to be that fitment!

There are plenty of alloys about in 4x114.3, but they seem to be either trick JDM rims for £££££, or fairly boring OEM-spec. It's not like 4x100 (or even 4x108) where there are options to suit any style and/or budget.

Exactly, plus I was really looking for something in 17 or 18" which from what I can find, is even rarer, so I figured if I couldn't find what I wanted, as an interim solution, I may just band the wheels on there..............assuming I ever find the car I'm looking for. Two days and 500 miles last week, and another 300 miles today, why can't people tell the truth? ?

Check e bay and you will find loads of 17s, if you can't find what you want try searching 4x4.5 as it's an American fitment. Honestly you should be swamped by choices in that size, if not can you change to a 5x114.5 as that's skyline and silvia territory

Sorry if I made it sound like you can just magic an extra stud onto the hub! But yes with adapters or possibly changing the hubs as I know quite a few J models have lower spec 4x114.3 and higher spec 5x on the same car.
Out of interest what car and style of wheel are you looking for?

Out of interest what car and style of wheel are you looking for? Ha, no problem, I thought I had missed something there and somehow because of the slightly different stud pattern you could put a 5 stud wheel on a 4 stud hub! The simplest answer is nothing in particular, just a car that spikes an interest. I originally wanted a Merc 190e, but have also looked at a W140 S Class after seeing one on here that looked lovely lowered with some nice wheels, plus I do really like Mercs having owned at least 6 over the last few years. I have also had my interest spiked by a Mazda 626, a Mitsubishi Galant and a few Honda Accords from the 80's and early 90's, hence the 4x114 dilemma. Wheel style, again, whatever I like the look of, but they're the ones that seem to all be 5 stud (second hand), which then with hub adaptors make the offsets wrong because 15mm adaptors seem to be the thinnest available. ..........unless you can point me in the right direction?

It depends on money and time, if you want something quick and cheap you take what you get.
Keep an eye on ebay/gum tree/facebook/forums for something you like, either to buy or research the company, see if you can buy direct and what sizes are offered.
It'll take a bit of digging as almost anything you search for you'll have 50 imitations and halford specials first.
