Headed up to Castle Combe yesterday for their usual Spring Action Day, lots of amateurs on track so excitement and diversity is guaranteed.
There was plenty of retro content on track and in the paddocks too. Anyway I'm running out of guff so on with the photos!
I lost count of how many sessions this Corsa was out in, it was bothering Evos and Imprezas all day long, was a shock to see it was only an 8v motor
One of the Definitive photographers MX5 was looking very cool and was also smashing it out on track
Serious looking Clio 16v really floated my boat
Super clean Rapid was more than just a pretty face...
...I'd imagine this is a riot to drive!
Proper rare Galant GTO was lovely
This thing was ace! P100 proper low on Gaz coilovers with a tuned 1.8TD with TD04 and tubular manifold, had a nice chat with the owner too was planning on adding a superchager in the future. Mmmmmmm Sierra related porn.
Boosted 8v Corsa, clearly built on a budget but was really nicely done
This Mini looked fast on track and was cocking it's leg on every corner, once we saw it in the pits it was clear why it went so well. Turbochaged K-series which according to the power graph in the back was knocking out 217bhp
Track action? Go on then......
'that' stunning M3 powered E30 which was murdering the hill at RRG14 was being given proper death on track, lovely car and driven sooooo hard!
A friend of mine Nick was out in his 3.0 manual Omega
Great to see this Alfa 75 out on track more than it wasn't, looked like it went well
Renault 9 not a common site anywhere, let alone a track
A personal highlight of any Castle Combe Action Day is the drift sessions...
This mk2 Escort was especially balls out! Dirt drops and some great entries, plus it's got a C20LET (or boosted XE) under the bonnet
OMG JZ NOISES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
'that' drifty 100E now packing a CA18DET
This ratty Starlet was powered by either a boosted 3S or 4AGE (couldn't recognise the rocker cover but it was 4 cylinder and had Toyota on it), proper show man too was excellent to watch on track.
