Perhaps not usual retro rides kind of project, but thought I post some pics of my Dino viewing Explorer, I saw it for sale locally about a year ago and instantly knew I had to fulfill my childhood dream, 1st generation explorers are so rare here I just snapped it off him. Its very much a work in progress. I'm slowly collecting the right parts, I have the right wheels but a friend has them in sweden at the moment. Interior is another big on the to do properly list... as is the plexiglass roof, which may not be done due to eye watering cost.. i wanna keep this low budget and fun. First scratch Built the front guard, using pictures from the film and modify some later explorer tail lamp guards: Next strip, remove the plastic side trims, weld the countless holes and ready for paint: Time to paint, this was so much fun, if a little tedious masking the stripes lol And though the interior is a long way off from what I want, it does have an interactive cd rom

Thanks guys! nope no electric power, I want to swap the cologne v6 for a windsor v8 and upgrade the problematic al4d transmission if anything lol. I cant see the plexiglass roof being done to be honest, the cost would be significant and this was always meant to be a low budget/ fun kinda project. As for the wrangler, well the mrs does roes really want one, but I'm not sure she'd go for jp colours lol

There's a guy on JPMP that's doing a mould for the roof ATM, might be worth asking him the question?
You already know my opinion on this...
I'm going down to see Richard to finish off getting his YJ screen accurate in a few weeks, I'll send you a few shots up on Facebook. If you want accurate sized decals, my printer still has all the files of mine, along with the number fonts etc if you want me to have a word with him?

Yeah Cyrix, his explorer is unreal! the roof parts will be astronomical to ship though, He sent me the files a while back and are currently in print, so will hopefully be on the truck next week. Tomas on jpmp has my sawblade wheels over in europe after sourcing them for me which was a mega find.
It was never meant to be screen accurate, just enough for everyone to be like "ZOMG Jurassic explorer" lol but ive no intention of selling it so itll probably get slowly more accurate over time

Epic love these! Seen quite a few cool JP vehicles on the Auto Aficionado's channel on youtube. Very cool! Looks like a great finish on the paint!
