Here is a little history about the car. The car started life as a stock 100e Paula ran the car in this guise for a while finish in metallic purple paint with a black candy top coat. In 1989 the car ran a 12.27 @ 111mph 1/4 mile In 1990 the car was further tweaked and got down to a 11.96 @ 119mph It then had a feature in the November 1990 Street Machine Magazine 1991 saw the car have a eye catching colour scheme, the same purple base but now sporting some dayglo slripes The car ran a new 11.62 @ 128mph so the tweaking was paying off Very Happy In 1992 the car was put up for sale to help fund their second 100e build and was purchased by Steve Brown, Steve ran it with some success but sold it on in 1993-94 but sold it on to Mark Burton in November 1994 Don't know what Mark did with it, but it was sold onto Dave Perrott in April 1996 It was raced by Dave for a few years but engine problems saw it stored away under a tarpaulin for nearly 20 years & slowly stripped of parts It was delivered 02/05/2015 to me I've had a quick look over the car & it needs the following panels I can see. Inner Sills repairs at front ends Outer Sills repairs to front ends Rear quarter panel lower corners Rear boot lid gutter lip, replacement panel sortedRear valance, will make panel up. Repair to drivers side rear chassis I'm looking at making a new chassis to replace the front chassis rails & tie into the original cage & 4-link rear setup that's there already.

Like. I believe Flyingphil of this parish was/is an alumni of the Rover V8 Championship and may have some info/memories of the car.

I think Kevin was in the higher class, running a 9.63@148.9mph a couple of weeks ago, Kev ran 8.7 @ 151mph in his 2.0 Turbo Mk1 Escort - Beast! Paula and Stan ran this 100e in the Street class of the Rover Championship and had an epic tussle with Martin Cowell (Mighty Midget) in 1991. They then built the tube chassied car to run in Pro Rover and would have met Kevin in that class.

I know absolutely nothing about drag racing, but that looks like a cool bit of history! Are you planning to return this to how it was before, or are you doing something completely different?
Edit: I just noticed the Lexus V8 picture in your sig, I guess that answers my question. Nice!

I remember this being featured in Street Machine and then i thought it was a stunning Pro streeter, so glad it's been saved and will be resurrected. What are the plans regards the finished car? Is it going purple / day glo??

Regarding the first post - the picture of the car as a rolling project - how old is that feature?

What this picture? Around 1991-92 I think.

As for plans for the car, sourcing a set of Centerlines for it. Got a Lexus V8 & auto box, Dana rear axle, Escort front suspension. It needs the front chassis rails replacing as they are a bit of a mess. Don't know what way to go with those at the moment, box section of CDS tube?

Got you bookmarked Paul I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on this , I've actually seen this at York when I used to go with my dad, did it ever race at Stratford ? If it did there's a chance it might have raced alongside mine at some point
