For me, it's probably this; Mechanically stock 190E, but slammed with a Rieger bodykit and AMG monoblock wheels. It didn't half get some attention (not always in a good way!)

My poor old '71 VW camper... bought for ÂŁ920 nearly 10 years ago Despite appearances, it's passed the last 7 MOTs first time. It's taken me across the Pyrenees, I've used it to move house several times, back and forth to uni, etc. All without ever failing to get me home. It makes me smile every journey.

(Not this particular car, but identical) Not the most impressive car in this thread, granted, probably not the most impressive car I've owned either. But I have so many happy memories of F260 FHH, my old Fiesta 1.4 S. It was the first 'decent' car I had at the tender age of 19, following a knackered 98,000 mile Metro 1.0 and a woeful 1.1 x-flow mk3 Escort (which still wears the CROWN of most unreliable car I've ever owned). I had gone round to a local used car dealer meaning to look at a 1.3 Belmont he had in, but saw the Fiesta hiding in the corner of the showroom at the same price. I'd always liked the mk2 S so I jumped at it. Compared to the Escort, the Fiesta was a different world. At just 5 years old with 48k on the clock with FSH, it was clean as a whistle and drove like a new one. Nippy, good handling and enough 'car park cred' to matter to a 19 year old in 1993! Everyone knew it was something a bit sporty but something different to the Nova SRs and 205 GTis and XSs that everyone else had. It had had the door locks removed and smoothed over with remote locking fitted so a bit of extra pose value as well as a bit more security considering what was going on with hot and warm hatches and thieving scrotes at the time. ÂŁ300 insurance compared to ÂŁ900-odd for the XR2 ( that I really wanted at the time) was also an advantage. To this day I really don't know why I sold it, I'd love another one nowadays.

Not sure what I would say was most memorable, but I to had a Fiesta 1.4s when I was 18, mine was black, lowered 50mm on Fiesta RS1800 alloys, I loved that car!

I wonder how many of us still have our most memorable car. I still have mine, I started to restore it many many moons ago, but sadly I never finished it as other things came along that took up my time and enthusiasm... Maybe one day!

This. I remember when the 156 was launched. I always thought the 155 had something about it but the 156 was something else. Then a bloke I worked with went to work in Brussells and returned 2 years later with one. There subsequently came a point where I wanted a new car, I was idly searching and discovered just how cheap a 6-7 year old one was. When people trot out the old cliches about alfas, I can tell them that I had one, i loved it, and that it was brilliant.

While my yellow Metro still holds our speed record for our local mad mile (in the days when I used to drive fast) and the Clio is a great little car, it has to be the 2cv. It was my first car, back in 1994, and I still have it! Sadly it sees very little use nowadays, as I just never seem to get the chance to get to the garage, move a car and mountains of curse word from in front, and actually give it the care it deserves. To be honest, I have lost a lot of confidence in the car, after having a few problems, but it is one of the family! Seeing the work some of the people on here have put into cars in far worse condition than mine, getting them back on the road and back in use, I know that I must make more of an effort this year. When I actually get to drive it, it is (mostly) a joy. You accept that you are not going to get anywhere particularly fast, but it is all about the journey! Even a 30 minute ride is more of an adventure than in any modern car. I roll back the roof, open the window (never closed when driving) and set off to enjoy a journey rather than just driving somewhere. Is it fast? No. Is it reliable? Ish! Will I ever sell it? No!

Mine would have to be my beloved 1963 Ford Consul Capri.
I don't have any pics unfortunately but if you do a search there are plenty of pics around.
It was my second car and when i bought it it had the engine in the boot lol.
Customised within an inch of its life with rack and pinion fitted, perspex black windows bent into shape above my mums electric cooker lowered etc etc.
Wish i still had her now, mucho sadness

My Landy 110, white with a blue stripe down the side, soft top, and a tweaked 4.2. It had 1-ton wheels and big mud tyres, but no lift, so say perfectly in proportion. Wish I could find some photos of it, it's still the best looking Landy I've seen, one day I'll have the time ÂŁ& cash to get it back together. Followed closely by the current 24v Capri, also whit with blue stripes.

One of these... 1966 Sunbeam Alpine Series 5 in Mediterranean Blue. Bought it when I was around 19 for 250 quid after being picked up by my cousin in her white one. Mine was a complete snotter despite only being ten or so years old. Had a knackered head which I initially couldn't afford to replace so had a standing order for gaskets with our local motor shop. Got to the stage where my Dad and I could do a gasket change in less than an hour. Finally saved up enough pennies and picked up a 1725 Holbay for it. Nice. Needed new sills to replace the newspaper ones and eventually got it a respray. Gave me many hours of son/dad spannering which we both enjoyed. Took me all over the country with a boot full of huge tent, got nicked, got recovered (no damage), lost my license for a year in it, hardly ever had the roof up and it taught me that trying to get a leg-over in a two seat sports car wasn't quite what it was cracked up to be! The long term plan was never to sell it and eventually slot in a V8 a la Tiger, but got written off after a T-bone. However many of its parts went off to save a few others. I'd kill for one now.

I have two, firstly this is the one I sold and have wished I never had. It was nothing fancy, or special, and to most it was a dirty farm truck and was aptly named "The Pig Truck" by my family. I drove one night after work from Kent to Wales to pick it up, got home at 3am to then get into work for 6am. I absolutely loved the thing, me and my misses had many fun trips and adventures and used to spend hours driving around the byways in it. Unfortunately my poor old pup needed an operation, a very costly operation which his insurance refused to cover, because of this the truck had to be sold and I remember standing in my hallway thinking "I don't want to sell it!" But at the time needs must and what not. Since then I've bought a L200 pick up and I am hoping I can have some fond memories with that. Strange considering some of the things I've owned, and places I've taken them, but an agricultural forest green truck that stunk of sheep was the most memorable. 2nd one I still own and will have to post in another reply.

76 Lhd Swedish import, stock type 4 2 litre flat four, springs poking me in the bum continually, no heating even though I drove it in winter as well. Really practical van, moved twice with it, but best of all, my sister in law was so embarrased to be in it in case anyone she knew saw her, which made me laugh...a lot! Since been restored to a very good standard by whoever owns it now, when I had it it would shower rust down every time you slammed the door. And yes, this photo does paint it in a good light. Just so freakin cool.

I've already posted on here, but here's my other 'one that got away'. As bought - Paint job and borrowed 18" Budniks - Bought my Plymouth, parked this on the drive needing minor jobs, then got made an offer and sold it. D'oh! Wish I'd kept it, and I will have another '70 (or maybe a '71-'72) when I get round to it...

For me it was this actual car. Fiat 124 BC that belonged to my mates dad. When we ere still at school we "borrowed" it one day while he was out of town, and Drew let me have a drive of it. After bombing about in our old VC Holden Commodore, it was a revelation to me. Beautiful to look at, that view out the windscreen over those angled front fenders, the driving position, the look of the instruments, the feel of that skinny steering wheel. And the noise, raspy little 4 that loved a rev. But for me it was the way it drove. We took on some back roads just out of town, and I was blown away. The thing handled beautifully, so flowing and stable, and most of all, fun. I still remember how it felt to this day. Sorry about the rubbish pics. They were the only digital ones I could find of the actual car. These were taken back in 2009. The car is back on the road again now. And I offered to buy it from my mates dad too, but the price he wanted was a bit out of my reach. One day though, she will have to be mine!
