Limit for the car is £250, I've got one for free so that bit is sorted.

Yes!
Well worth it, 4 of us did the Ramshackle Rally to Valencia in a Sierra purchased from here.
Also been to Bucharest too (on a stag do) and as cities go it's not a bad place to visit.
One thing to think about is budget. It can get quite expensive especially when you add in drinks, Also when I did our budget I completely forgot to add toll charges in so make sure you've got everything cover.
Would seriously recommend this :-)

Any idea how much to budget for? Just a ballpark would be helpful.

Hmm, it's was back in 2009 so I can't really remember I'm afraid. There were 4 of us and we stayed in Valencia for a 3 more days for the tomato fight so that added to the cost. We also scrapped the car and flew back. From memory, I think it cost us £700 each. We did stay in hotels though and if you wanted to save some cash you could camp lots of people on our trip did this. You could try www.airbnb.com there is a fair bit of cheap accommodation on there. I think the key is to book things early when prices are at their cheapest. The ramshackle rally team do offer discounts with ferry companies and accommodation too though. Hope that helps, pretty sure they have a forum on their website which will no doubt have a FAQ section. The hardest part is trying to think of an original paint scheme for your car!!! |

It's probably going to be camping as I hadn't really budgeted for it this year, it's just that the car came along and it seems a good opportunity. I know what you mean about paint scheme. I thought that would be easy, but I'm going from one idea to another. Favourite at the moment is to paint it with blackboard paint and let the local kids at school chalk it and then see if I can somehow seal their chalk work. |
