Saxo VTS is heavily tipped by a few of the publications to be one to buy as most got modified badly or thrashed to death or wrapped around a lamp post. Also, they were notoriously flimsy, so genuinely top notch examples are already very thin on the ground. I picked up one of the very best a while back and have been doing a couple of little jobs to make is as close to perfect as possible. It's effectively a one owner car. Owned by an Italian guy from new. Unfortunately there is a 2nd name on the V5 as another guy bought it to turn into a track car, but quickly realised it was far too good for that. Done about 60k from new with FSH, all original leather bound Marshall Motor Group book pack, interior trim perfect apart from a bit of wear on the plastic steering wheel. 4 matching tyres, had just had cambelt, water pump, new brakes all round, new springs. No sagging rear axle. Clean under the bonnet, new battery, drives A1. One of the clips on the bodykit had broken so one corner was moving, so I took all the kit and bumpers off to check underneath. Not a hint of rust anywhere, so cleaned all under there and fitted new clips all round. Got to be one of, if not the best standard VTS out there now. Been enjoying driving it myself, but will be up for sale soon.

Water cooled Porsches look like good value, the 924 in particular, although I'd hate to see these bought just for investment purposes (have just written a large magazine article on the very same subject).

I'm hoping my Dolomite Sprint might go up in the value at some point, they seem to be very undervalued compared to similar vehicles of the time (BMW 2002, Escort etc). I bought it because I've always liked them and it seemed like a fun car to have for summer, but it would be nice to make some money if I ever sell it! At least I know I can't really lose any money on it unless I ruin it.

It's steadily catching up with the 911 of that era, which ironically is what made it so infamous. It is such a drivers car that you can enjoy and even modify (in certain ways; ie steel turbos and other less visual but mods which allow the car to be used to its full potential) without losing money. Not to mention that they're an absoloute hoot to own and give you such a buzz to be piloting Here's one which Rob0r and I owned up until recently....

I've bought a Fairway black cab with this in the back of my mind. Although it strikes me as one of the those cars that regardless of how many left won't be worth any actually money.

Porsche Boxter - I saw one advertised at a dealers for 5k with 60k miles and history, it wasn't in a desirable colour (metallic red) but seemed like money in the bank if you kept that for shows/nice days out and kept the miles sensible.
I'd love to see my Ford Probe increase in value - Corrados are nearly double the price. I fear it will always be a car wanted by just a small band of enthusiasts.

Citroen Ax GT, GTi - values are starting to go upwards quickly. The good unmodified ones are thin on the ground so commanding strong values, similar to the way 205 Gti's, R5 GT turbo, or Uno turbo's did/do.
Saxo VTR/VTS mk1's will start to go up soon as well as they are pretty scarce (Mk 2 less so)
106 XSi's , Rallye's and Gti's in good condition will rise (there aren't many left unmodified)
Mk3 Fiesta's, Mk1 Mondeo's anything late 80's early 90's that was once seen as everyday bread and butter cars have become more scarce especially in good condition Southey will rise in value as a new generation seeks to rekindle the cars of their youth on a nostalgic trip.

Volvo 850 T5 and T-5R's have bottomed out a couple of years ago and are rocketing in price, a tatty T-5R would be a couple of grand now, a good one can be anywhere from £5k to £10K.

R32 R33 R34 nissan skylines . I also predict Modified Japanese cars will go up in value in around 10/15 years due to popularity films like fast n the furious.

All special editions and bog spec cars that are really well looked after. All those mk3 Astras and mk5 Escorts that have been one person owned since new and sat in the garage for the majority of their lives etc etc.
It only takes one person to sell a car at inflated price to suddenly have the 'they're worth this much now' and every other seller to follow suit. A dealer currently has a Starion on ebay for 10 grand. Someone came to my garage to buy some bits and said 'so that's how much they're worth now'. All the really nice ones seem to sell for 5 grand currently.
