The latest issue in the ongoing Acty saga is to do with rolling resistance in traffic. After 20 mins stuck in tailbacks on the M6 yesterday, I noticed that I didn't have to use the brakes at all when bringing it to a stop from 10/15mph. There was enough resistance, from what I guess must be sticky brakes, that the car struggled to pull off without a good chunk more throttle. As soon as the traffic started moving a bit better, the problem disappeared, and rolled smoothly even at very low speeds.
Odd isn't it?
Thanks in advance

Sliding disc calipers not sliding any more?

Had similar problem with a Neon. Turned out to be front flexi pipes. Clamp had rusted so it tightened onto the pipe and was restricting flow thus turning it into almost a one way valve. Same can happen with any old flexi pipes in that they can deteriorate internally.

The hoses are less than a year old and braided. We did make all the hard pipes ourselves though, shouldn't be checking through those fornanything in particular?

This was my first thought and can happen with braided/new when clamps are used to stop fluid flow when working on the braking system, Flexi's should never ever be clamped even using the correct tools as it damages the inside and check valves the hose..

Master cylinder actuating rod? If it's not got enough free play with the pedal released, fluid won't be able to return to the resevoir.
