After a break of a couple of years, I found myself wanting another MX5. That combined with the realisation that I was in real danger of losing my license if I continued to drive my 250bhp saab (I regularly look down at the speedo and realise I am traveling a fair bit quicker than I thought) the hunt was on for another MX5 and my Saab is now up on ebay. I ideally wanted another NA, but with a tight budget and no linger having the facilities to weld, I thought I would end up with an NB. But then I spotted a badly advertised 1991 Eunos on ebay, not to far away and ending at 23:40 last Friday. Not having enough time to get there to view it, quick request for some better pic's and details was sent and I expected it to go over my budget. Pics and details arrived in my inbox with 1hr to go, and happy with them I stick a bid in allowing for some room for unexpected work, but fully expecting not to win it but I am the highest bidder. The minutes tick down, no further bids....... get to the final minutes, surely I'm going to be sniped, but no, I am the winning bidder Couple of messages exchanged and last Sunday I headed down to Weston Super-Mare to collect it and it was as good as I had hoped The drive back highlighted a shake at 65 (wheels were well out of balance), there is a whine that is engine speed related (I'm assuming that its the alternator at the minute) and I think it is in dire need of a service, plus the door speakers are shot, but the shell is much tidier than I had hoped, and after a good clay and wax I think it should shine quite well. Plus it has a pipercross cone filter as a bonus. Not sure on the alloys, they are OZ Route 14x6 ET38's (and currently fitted with 175/65 budgets) My previous 2 have also been 91 Eunos's 1st one went from to which was went through a few owners before surfacing back up on MX5Nutz, being repainted a gloss grey but titled as a drift toy and according the the DVLA has been off the road for a couple of years my 2nd I didn't have that long (got scammed buying a set of coilovers, and some wheels bought on ebay weren't as good as advertised and I never regained the mojo for it)

Not a bad looking machine. Any plans for it. Funny you should mention powerful Saabs as I've recently acquired a 9-5 Aero Hot and it is deceptively quick. Good luck with your new purchase. At least you'll hopefully have some good weather this week to enjoy it in.

They do gather pace at a alarming rate without making any fuss.
Plans for this one are getting shot of the god awful factory rear spoiler (might get a duck tail to replace it), give it a major service and a new cambelt and water pump along with a good clean and polish. I've found out its also got some uprated monza shocks fitted and looking at it, i think it has been lowered too. Still tempted to get some coilovers and some better wheels.

Your blue mx5 persuaded me to buy my eunos, looked brilliant and a bit ahead of the curve with that style before Nutz went mad with it.
Looking forward to see what you do with this one.

No it doesn't unfortunately, I got lucky and managed to trade my factory spoiler boot with a plain one for free off a guy from the MX5Nutz forum.

Well it's been a while, I've not really used it that much as I've been working up in Glasgow most of the time and only back at the weekends has meant it's spent most of the time parked on my drive unloved. I did give it a full service last summer (must be about due another soon) along with fresh oil in the box and diff, had a rear caliper stick on, so I had new discs, pads, calipers and sliders fitted to the rear, removed the broken horrid looking boot spoiler and fitted an eBay duckbill (the fit was awful and still needs finishing). Last month was the dreaded MOT, just needed an petrol treatment to get the emissions right (too much time sitting not doing it any favors). So I decided it was time to start treating it as I'm back home again and will start putting the miles back on it. So today was an early start to head to Redditch to pick up some E30 BBSs that popped up on MX5nutz. 4hours later I was back home, quick trip to my friendly tyre shop and 4 new 195/50/15 toyo proxies mounted and I was on my way Sadly they are missing one of the centre caps (1 got stolen when on the previous owners MX5), I think I might remove the 3 I have at the minute and either sell them on (as they seem to be asking £50 each on ebay and I like the wheels without them, but they do look better on I think) or hunt a spare and get it painted to match they do fill the arches nicely though But I really must finish fitting the duck tail and remove the rear mudflaps Plus a new exhaust would be nice too
