bearing in mind these have the same mounting positions. I found a complete one in the scrappy today and checked over everything - it's a 1.3 twin cam. I'm looking at upgrading the Nippa slightly and this would be perfect if it fitted.

Not sure what the question is, but sticking in a bigger engine is never a bad idea!

opening things up a little for more choice the yrv is the same as the yaris vits turbo in japan so theres a 1300 sr and 1500 t sport motor but yes go for the yrv turbo 100 plus bhp in a nippa!!!

Just whether the engine bay of a Nippa/Mira would take a YRV engine. It looks very small, but the mounting positions are the same. I have photos and will post them tomorrow. Even the 850cc 3 cylinder in the Nippa is cramped in there - it's rather rapid even with an 850cc.

Didn't Mighty Car Mods do a Sirion engine to a Cuore? Seem to remember they took the subframe with it?

Think the entire front end is identical between L500 (Mira/Nippa) and L700 (Cuore/Sirion/YRV), the engine bats all look identical including the mounts. This has been done before loads in Malaysia and Thailand (both have or had Daihatsu and Perodua factories): Unfortunately, the YRV only came with auto box with steering wheel controls. I can't see a 50bhp (or whatever it is) 850cc gearbox lasting with a 130bhp 1.3. I'm going down tomorrow to see how much the whole front end would cost me! Yum
