The wheels still turned ! Actually says something about the water in that area if it inhibits rust Hope the shell isn't too far gone and somebody restores.

We've had a bugatti, a splitty, assorted American tin with bodies in,Bluebird speed record jet boat so a Capri is pretty small, in the scheme of things, found in a lake, there's also a Ferrari found buried in a back yard and Babs lsr car buried in a beach Ttfn Glenn Ps the bluebird and the split have been restored Think Babs has been restored and then there's the beach find spitfire that's coming up for auction

Hi, rust is oxidation, which means it needs Oxygen to promote it, although there is Oxygen in water it is not readily available. Do you remember the VW camper in the fjord? That was in there 60 years. Or the Bugatti in the lake? That was in the water for 70 years. Neither of them was as rusty as people thought they would be. Capri,s had a reputation at one time for not rusting as badly as their contemporaries, they did catch up a bit later.

I have rang Nottingham police multiple times asking if I could take the car, apparently they have been inundated with requests to take it. They suggested it's up to the insurance company if proven to be stolen, which of course it was.......

Surely that's 120 quids worth of scrap and £5000+ worth of work? Scrap value is high where you live! I thought it was more like £60/ton at the moment.

When the London docks were Gentrified, there were LOTS of cars recovered from the docks, ranging from 30s right up to moderns, I bet there a few tales to tell.

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

When MOT was introduced in 1960 cars were abandoned everywhere so pushing then into the Thames isn't surprising. Where I live there used to be a row of old cars that were simply driven onto the moors and left. We used to play in them as kids for years until cleared away in late 60's.

Even down where I live now, there still are a few old cars growing in the woods, saw a Fordson the other day, probably been there a good few years and been stripped down to the bones.
