Yes they do, we have delivered seized cars back to the police for them to use then get them back later to be scrapped even seized 'no insurance' cars can be auctioned by the police. Do you have a reliable link stating the police use the cars for police business? Hahahhahahhahaha. I doubted that the police crushed cars of repeat offenders because I have never heard about it, maybe because it was a one off, whereas I know our force use cars because I'm involved with the process and no they don't advertise the fact on local media.

Hmm... so no evidence then? Okay you win, you proved that the police do crush cars of repeat offenders but I have no prove of something that I see happen... News headline in Solent news weekly.... Police use impounded car as a sting car, A red Vauxhall Astra PO11RKY will be parked up in Letsbe Avenue for one week to catch car thefts, Blue Mondeo FU66KED will be used by the ELite drug squad to catch drug buyers. I do apologise for asking if they was anything documented about the car being crushed as I was surprised that such a common practice which is in the public interest had gone unreported.

I know Warwickshire police used a 2001 Seat Leon Cupra as an unmarked car a couple of years back when there was a problem with illegal street racing. Weather it was a seized car or one they purchased I don't know.

I'm not sure if any siezed car would be used here in england but I'm sure ive heard of the police in other countries use them. Wouldnt it surely give the police an added incentive to "pick on" owners of flash cars though lol Do you think it would save us money on taxes though ? how about that for the recycling brigade lol

Wouldnt it surely give the police an added incentive to "pick on" owners of flash cars though This is a huge problem in the US, Plod there can generally seize what they want and make you prove you acquired it legally. I think Michael Moore has covered it before and there's a huge section of a documentary called How To Make Money Selling Drugs about how certain states have huge asset seizure teams. Doesn't work like that in the UK though.
