I think it's a great programme, especially against the current "cultural" backdrop of programmes constructed specifically to be spiteful to others and demean them on a national stage. What's so wrong with helping people realise their dreams when they're unable to do it themselves?
Plus, Fuzz is a true gentleman and seemingly a very genuine person... as well as being a conscientious mechanic/resotorer and contributing member on two of the best PWEI albums, lol...
We met him at Bromley this year and he seemed genuinely regretful that he couldn't come and open my lad's school fete for him when the li'l un asked him. None of that "I'll have to ask my agent" or "You'll have to go through the management company" or anything like that

What's so wrong with helping people realise their dreams when they're unable to do it themselves? agree, the balance its just about perfect with this show imho, its interesting, engaging, good banter, perfect amount of the actual mechanical restoration, excellent attention to detail, bit of drama, quite heartfelt wheeler dealers i like, but its profit driven and a bit "tidy it up and flog it." For the love of cars, entertaining but its profit driven, too much fannying around, not enough of the actual resto

Car SOS is one of the only car programmes my wife will watch with me. The fact that it has a real story and a worthy cause is the draw. If it was just restoring a car for Joe Bloggs who ran out of money, time, skill then it's got no appeal. Because car people and normal people understand the emotion of the harsh realities of life it tugs at the heart strings. Some of the people they do these for almost certainly aren't even with us anymore so having their car restored put a smile on their faces and lifted their spirits to a time when they could enjoy these things til life robbed them. Others give so much to those around them that they deserve to be recognised and spoilt in this manner.
The interludes are just a way to lighten the mood, they are silly and irreverent but we all know the hours of work that go into these restorations. Oh and the three week deadline I think is just a suspense adder if you look in the back ground you'll see several others from the series in there at the same time.
Probably the best presented and most down to earth show that is both entertaining and interesting.
I'm sure there are people on here who illness has robbed them of the opportunity to finish their rested.

All I was getting at was why does there has to always be a sob story involved... I tell you why "because it gets viewers" It's not just car sos, it happens with a lot of tv programs nowadays. Xfactor, BGT just to name a few. What about everyone else that has a car that needs restoring but they can't because either they have ran out of money or not got the time etc? How can you compare Car SOS that does good for deserving ppl to a couple of rigged shows for brainless halfwits. I wouldn't watch anything that quiff in a t-shirt with retro chesthair is involved with! Rant over I'm looking forward to another series!

I'm just gutted its no longer on more4, I don't have Nat Geo Sadly it's the one reason I am forced to pay the stupid prices that Sky expect. All the interesting programs I like to watch Sky have the monopoly on. Bastards!!

I don't know if I'm the only one but at times the end of Car SoS has me on the verge of tears. Last week's with the P1800 was no exception. To find yourself in a position where you are no longer physically able to finish your project, and resign yourself to never seeing it finished as a result, must be awful. To help a few people out by doing for them what they can no longer do themselves is, I think, brilliant.
Comparisons with BGT or X-factor are, I think, deeply unfair. Car SoS strikes me as being about helping people who have put others before themselves not about people wanting to be famous because their mum/dad/cat/dog has died.

Think I applied for this for my dad, as his camper van is getting in a sorry state, and his health ain't getting any better any time soon Would be nice for him to have something he can drive to hills, do a bit of walking, then be able to sleep in comfort in the camper

I think CarSOS is probabaly one of the best shows of it type, catering for oily fingered spanner fettlers like me. But I do wish they would broaden their horizons on the criteria for selecting who gets featured. Theres a lot of people without massive health issues or sob-stories that are just as deserving and probably have quite interesting back stories to pad out the programme with.

My wife's husband has a Capri that needs a bit of work. I'm sure it would make his day if they painted it and finished it off for him. Poor little mite.

I would go as far as saying it's the best "motoring" show on telly at present. Fuzz makes the show for me. It would only get better for me if Tim stopped faffing around, stopped being such a drama queen, and actually helped more with the builds!

I always get a lump in my throat watching them return the car.
They are also doing a 2002 Turbo this series, so that's something to look forward to.
Fuzz seems to be a genuinely involved guy, who loves what he does. But I have to wonder about whether the cars genuinely get done in 3 weeks, or if they use a bit of editorial licence ;-)

Well I hope that's the case with this new series then, I've got series link set so keep checking if it captures any new ones as I wondered when it would be back on!
