Bit harsh... from what I've seen of car SOS they do restore them properly, IMHO they just go a little over the top with the sob stories.

This. They do a cracking job and the fact that Fuzz is involved can only be a good thing. Clearly you need to watch some other car resto shows to see a curse word resto job. The one with that cock Bernie and his fat sidekick Mario is up there with the the worst. Car SOS is genuinely well done, and I for one am chuffed for them that a fourth series has been commissioned.

Not sure if it's just me but there seems to be a lot of haters on here lately.

dunning123 do you have personal experience of a car / cars that they've completed to back that up as from what i can tell as a viewer they do a complete job and I know people who have used the garage through personal choice unrelated to the show and recommended them.

southside surely that's the point and the raison d'être - it's obviously a car restoration program based on DIY SOS and aims to complete restos for people who can no longer do it themselves and as long as they research and check they're genuine reasons then I'm happy for this to continue.

Only thing I'd like to see gone are the little fake discount / freebie parts interludes as they're very cheesy and cringeworthy although I did like the ones in series 3 where they earned discount rates based on car / part ID challenges.

It's not just car sos, it happens with a lot of tv programs nowadays. Xfactor, BGT just to name a few. What about everyone else that has a car that needs restoring but they can't because either they have ran out of money or not got the time etc?

The premise of the show is for people who are unable to finish their projects either due to ill health or that of a close relative for whom they have put before their own needs. I also recall one gentleman who had put his community's needs before his own having his car restored.

I personally enjoy the show and have no reason to doubt the workmanship going into the cars and do not in any way see it as "sob stories".

As for the others who have ran out of time or money comment. Your honestly not serious are you?

Such valuable insight, thanks. I often wondered why shows are made; the goal of obtaining viewers was something I had not previously considered.

I enjoy Car SOS. I like the premise of the show. I admire the passion which is clearly evident in those who make it and the restored cars that are handed back to their owners at the end. The 'sob stories' don't bother me, as that's what the show is about: giving something back to those who've experienced hardship.

At the end of the day if it helps someone get a car back on the road that would otherwise be left to rot then surely that's a good thing?

I find the programme enjoyable to watch and I'm glad there bringing out another series as it's alot better than some other so called Car show's.

I've spoken to a few people who have met / delt with Fuzz through his business and have only said good things and judging by the varied cars I've seen outside his workshop when I've been past. He certainly seems popular so that can't be through shoddy workmanship?

Quite sad to see comments like this, never understand why some people need to snipe and belittle other's work (although I have my suspicions).

I appreciate that it is ultimately a TV show to make money but these people obviously put a lot of hard work and enthusiasm into doing something for someone else and from what I've seen the end results are always pretty damn good.

One every level I can think of, this method of selecting the most worthwhile projects is good all round. Why wouldn't you? It is just the human spirit that wants to see people who have experienced bad luck to get a bit of good karma back. if you don't feel that, then don't watch.
Maybe you would like to commission a TV series that just finishes off projects for people that have bit off more than they can chew. Many of us on here will form an orderly queue so let us know.
Why do some people manage to look at the bad in anything?
I think that Fuzz is one of the most likeable blokes on TV, or in this business, so good luck to them, I look forward to viewing.

Car sos is all about the so called 'sob story' as said. It's supposed to be doing something kind for someone who has had a hard time. That's good, surely, although they do drag it out I admit. The latest series of For the Love of cars annoyed me because it didn't have this. They literally took people's cars, restored them, sold them and gave them the money, in several instances for nothing other than personal gain. Car sos plays on the fact that old cars are dear to people, and mean more than just what they are worth as a valuable possession

The main reason I like Car SOS is watching how they do what they do. Same with Wheeler Dealers. With Car SOS I gloss over the sob story and with WD I ignore the price/sale parts as I am watching them to see a car being fixed up.

With Car SOS, I like the presenters and the fact that they don't restore the car within a budget.

One of the things I really do quite enjoy is their discussions on either returning the car to totally standard or keeping the owners mods/wheels/colours. I think in general they get it right too.
