Amazon prime probably has the advantage of selling books, dvds etc for the 'brand' as well as all the streaming. I think the old top gear and Clarksons own stuff is quite lucrative. That might be part of the deal.
And with Amazon Prime, the free streaming content is there but you have to search for it. There is just as much if not more films/tv series but not all of its included in the subscription.

I bid the three massive egos amigos good luck, but will be spending my money elsewhere. I'm looking forward to the fourth series of Car Sos with Fuzz and Tim. Entertaining, interesting back stories, informed and seemingly nice blokes. Really pleased they've got the new series commissioned. That's what I'll be setting up on the planner

So £160 million for a 3 year 36 episode deal. It all makes sense now.

Surely with it now being on Amazon Prime they'll get abit more... "artistic freedom", hoping so. Was getting bored of the constant supercar reviews always prefered the cheap car challenges.

This x100. The £1500 Porsche challenge and subsequent £1500 Coupe that's not a Porsche challenge were my favorites. I'd watch the new series but won't pay for AP so I'll just wait for it to be pirated online and then watch it. Roadkill in the meantime.

It's interesting that it's still produced by Andy Willman - isn't this the guy Clarkson punched? So they're working together again. Must be a lot of money! Likewise, I'm not subscribing to another blimming internet service. Unless they actually start delivering stuff by quadcopter, then they can have my money

I'll definitely watch it, slightly disappointed it isn't netflix as it's the most promising of the TV replacement services in my opinion.

So £160 million for a 3 year 36 episode deal. It all makes sense now. Blimey, after Jezza's £159,999,949.50 that doesn't leave much for those two other poor chaps...!!!!!

Can't imagine they will have as big a budget as the BBC. This is only available to viewers within the UK and not here in Ireland. Despite Ireland being the home of amazons HQ we get nothing.
Bad decision by the TG ex trio I think - nobody will be looking at it - not the numbers that used to view TG anyway.

I,d never new Amazon did tv ill I read this thread So I guess I wont be watching it and how many 1000,s more wont be either. I think they should have stuck with normal TV SKY HTV or what ever. You can guarantee the new top gear will have a lot more views just because of where its shown even if it turns out to be curse word.
