Made the most of the sunshine at the weekend at took the car for a bit of a run: Mechanically it seems to be fairly well sorted now, it's starting very easily, ticking over nicely, making no nasty noises, and with so little weight on it is actually quite rapid. Annoyingly the body is going to have to come off again to sort the usual clearance issues, at least I'm getting quite quick at it now!

Great restoration story, I've got a big soft spot for Sevens, particularly the inventiveness of the special bodies which could make them look like junior Bentley's or Junior Bugattis.

Those pics are so surreal!....its a restoration, but with the long grass, it appears the car could have just been found like that...

I noticed an ad on Gumtree, someone selling a 'vast' selection of parts for early Austin cars including Sevens. Looks to include Special sports body. No prices. Austin parts(in case you're stuck for anything.)

Just round the corner from me Get ye behind me Satan! I can't think of many driveways or garages which wouldn't be enhanced by the addition on a nice little Sports bodied Austin 7 special?

MkX - Thanks for the heads up on the parts, I'm mostly alright for parts for the moment - It's time rather than parts that the car needs! On the parts front I did recently manage to get my hands on another correct front wing which is a major step forward: It's not an absolute match to the other wing which I have but is close enough that one or the other can be lightly modified to suit. As with just about everything else on the car it doesn't really line up properly, but it's all getting there slowly!

Just watched the video, i bet that felt like it was about to break the sound barrier on the final run into the yard, nothing like fences and hedges wizzing passed to add a touch of speed

That fintail body looks cool. But the story on your own, pieced together over years and continents is cool also. Is it a typical 3 pedal setup?
