For a mate that I keep trying to get to sign up on here Any knowledge of these in terms of a refurbish or strip down and rebuild with a service kit - anyone got any good internet information sources?

I may just read the above links ; Hopefully some of them will cover the KE-injection system and rebuilding them; I was told that the electro-pressure regulators are no longer available or rebuildable.

You'd get much better results from your rs turbo with cosworth management, it's really easy to do as well

You'd get much better results from your rs turbo with cosworth management, it's really easy to do as well This I am all too aware of. It would improve many things potentially but there are a few things that put me off, some of the reasons illogical I admit!: - There is something about the injection system being original and working relatively well
- While the car is not original it at least looks closer to it with all of the bits unless you know what to look for
- Cosworth management is now the best part of 20 years old and will come with its own set of issues as a result (old age, bodgery and so on ; you only have to go onto PassionFord and see the plethora of threads regarding running issues, bodged looms and so on, with the Jedis of Cosworth seeming to forget some of their customer's cars...
I may well go to EFI thought but it would possibly end up being Megasquirt if it could do what the Emerald K6 and OMEX 700 could do, in addition to a tuner who could work it. But as said, my opinion is biased and flawed! That said, just how easy is really easy? Being a ZVH I already have a crank sensor to use but I am guessing that the loom would have to be butchered to bits.

It really is a simple job when you go at it logically, no you don't have to butcher your loom it can be hidden away so you have the option of putting back to standard if you so choose, for it to run you need, crank sensor and 4 tooth trigger wheel, phase disc, bracket and sensor (cosworth crank sensor) a 2wd cosworth engine loom which you unpick, some wires you extend like the crank sensor wire, others you relocate and tape in relevant position then tape the whole loom up, when it comes to getting power to it, it's one wire to the battery, one to the ignition barrel for the switch live, it earth's in the engine bay and you have a live feed for your fuel pump. you obviously use cosworth act and ect sensors, a cosworth throttle body which you need to modify the shaft where the tps sits so you can put it the opposite way or it fouls the cam cover with the wiring plug on, pf09 tps and iscv, a cvh efi inlet with the remote iscv which you have the flange modified for the throttle body, vacuums welded up and suitable ones put in, to run the efi manifold on the mfi head you need an adapter plate with cutouts for the injectors, cosworth injectors and a a 3 bar map sensor, i used a L8 ecu with pectel board and a chip from OddKidd, you also need a few bits and bobs like adapter bosses for the act and ect also throttle body arm where the cable goes and a throttle cable bracket, mk6 escort fuel filter and sort some fuel lines, there may be some little things I've missed, the only problem I really came across was an iffy wire for the tps causing the ecu to stick the revs with the iscv when revved above 3k, the beauty of the whole setup is its common parts that are fairly cheap and readily available, every tuner and his dog can do cosworth ecu, it's a nut and bolt conversion, it really does make a huge difference to driveability
