Hi everyone,
I have cracked window rubbers and door seals that are basically unobtainable new.
Someone once suggested Devcon Flexane putty to fill in the cracks and get them watertight again. Has anyone here actually tried this?
I checked out the product info for Flexane and I see it also comes as a castable fluid that cures to rubber. Do you know of anyone that has tried casting their own window rubbers and if so was it any good? I was thinking that I could patch up the existing rubber in situ, then pull it out and use it to make a sacrificial mould out of silicone. Does that sound reasonable?
These are odd or variable section rubbers that go around the opening quarterlights and in the top of the tailgate where it hinges, so nothing woolies or seals direct has off the shelf is suitable.
