After a couple of successful small scale Retro Rides Dawn Drives around London I was wondering if anyone fancied a Dawn meet up to watch a load of other people drive through the city.
Sunday 1st November is the date of the London to Brighton run. The original one after which every classic car/bus/bicycle cycle event has followed. The first took place in 1896 and it has been run every year since 1927 (except for the war years). It sits as one of the top historic motoring events in the world.
Start time in Hyde Park is 06:54 but its best to get there around 06:00 to watch the cars chugging into the collection area in near pitch black. Then once under way it can take nearly 2 hours for them all to get going as these days there's 500+ pre 1905 cars at the start.
Anyone up for a meet and spectate? If there's interest I can sort out suggested parking/meeting places and perhaps a venue for breakfast afterwards.
