Off to Woodford aerodrome to watch the Vulcan xh558 make one of its last ever flights Used to live just near there when the Vulcans and Victors were a regular sight. Thought it had gone for development now? Scrap my last post, hernia op worse than it was supposed to, still in hospital down in deepest Kent,, just been told no driving for 6 weeks:( and no work for up to 4 weeks, bored already and in to much pain, on the plus side I've got RR and a load of classic car mags to read! Ouch. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. On the car front? Well, nowt really. I've been told that my interior bits, ordered in April from the States, are actually on their way here. Via a slow boat to China I think. It Hhas but last time the Vulcan flew over it plunged the area into chaos, so this time they decided to open the airfield one last time, with the permission of the developers and you were allowed to park on the perimeter road , and take pics .We had a picnic too.Good news is that in the deeds of sale BAE gave some of the land to AVRO heritage , who have built a new museum which opens soon and they already have their own Vulcan.

I'm getting up in 7 hours to go to the local car booty, then off to workshop to get covered in filler dust and sanded paint. And be graced with my presence. That'll sure brighten up your day... And that was the highlight of my day

As you say, good news. Always had a close affinity with Woodford going beck to my Mum working there as a temp during the war (she was qualifying as a nurse at the time) and my uncle working as a technical author when he came out of the Fleet Air Arm. Had many, many mates who worked there over the years as well and where I used to live in Bollington was good for watching the airshows from!

On Saturday I got in my EN Civic to see if it would start after sitting outside all winter and it did. I was quite pleased as it hadn't been started since the beginning of May when I used it for firewood gathering.

I worked at woodford and did the VIP catering for the air shows back in the late 80s early 90s..saw the spitfire come down the vulcan was awesome! ...all the car alarms set off in the car park when she flew past happy times

This weekend I will mostly be at the 'Insane Creations' work shop with a few cans of cider, a few good mates to mocking up some new shiny parts and do some more measuring. Front end setup will be going together shortly and I have a big box of shiny stuff that landed last week from the states to help make it happen!

Japshow Finale... since I enjoyed Japshow soooooo much Provided that Hurricane Joaquin doesn't crash the party, that is Well, that went well! Set off determined to enjoy the day after being told off for being grumpy about Japshow earlier this year. It was actually pretty good, the Finale often is better than Japshow itself for some reason. Car performed faultlessly... yayyy for rotary reliability, lol. Left with the dawn... ...got home at dusk. Beautiful... ...had fun in between! Pic thread to follow when I catch up the three I'm currently behind by

Went to watch some drifting and get a spin in a car at the local track. Now the wife is hoping to pick up a ford sierra and a Lexus LS400 this weekend one is going to the scrap yard and the other is getting the scraped car engine

Lexus 4 litre V8 into an old Sierra? Sounds like a plan to me. If this is the plan I'm sure many of us would enjoy seeing a build thread.

Was going to spend Sat in company of Rosemary Smith (google her) at an event compered by Graham robson. Unfortunately she has had a nasty fall back home in Ireland so won't be coming. I may go to Silverstone instead and watch Simon Benoy collect the Championship Trophy for this years Historic Touring Cars, his second and the Imp's 6th in recent times.
Sunday I'm doing an end of season run to Milton Keynes, unfortunately not in my Imp.
