Frontline MG Roadster - factory visit and drive

Made this. I'm the ugly chap in sunglasses with a bit of a Brummie accent. Not sure the car is worth £80k but we had a blast. I hope RRers enjoy the video;

Their entry model was 50k the last time I spoke to them about such a beast.

Yes, this one had everything. It's hard to describe how well sorted it feels to drive, and for a 4 pot it sounded great too. Try one!

its great that you take the time to introduce us to some fine cars the video looked very professional and informative....i wouldnt ever spend 50k on any car but id certainly have a go at building such like,i find it very humbling that british men in sheds and garages can turn out such great work

Thanks! The 'shed' was a beautiful little factory unit, used to be the home of Toleman F1 (Senna's first F1 ride).

Yes, ferocious. But it wasn't scary, it has loads of grip, good steering feel, decent ride quality and everything feels new and tight. 

We've just finished a film about another boutique car manufacturer, different product, but just as cool. I'll start another thread in that when it is released

Are they actually based on an original MG, or is it all-new starting from a Heritage shell?

There's a somewhat similar car built by a small company in Adelaide, South Australia. They used a Heritage MG-B shell with a Lexus 1UZ-FE 4 litre V8, 6 speed Supra manual gearbox and an MX-5 based rear suspension with Subaru STI differential. The V8 was obviously tuned up and I believe they had an option to put a Procharger centrifugal supercharger on it. The car had a custom-made body kit with wide arches in a somewhat modern style. The interior was all modern in style, I think it might have had a Subaru dash in it, or maybe MX-5? I talked to the company about it at a car show years ago, but can't remember the name of it. Would have gone well!

Everything is new. The lot. They have a large batch of Heritage shells in stock.
