Hi. Has any one used this stuff before por15 basic fuel tank kit? I'm suffering from blocked fuel filters due to rust in the tank. And I'm not having much luck in finding a good replacement tank ( hillman hunter). So would really like to know if this stuff is any good user friendly ect? Thanks Dave

Not used the fuel tank stuff but make sure whichever you buy is ethanol resistant as not all are
POR15 paint ID certainly recommend in general for the exterior

If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault

If it's flaking rust blocking the filter you need to get the flakes off before treating it, fill with stones and strap it to a cement mixer, that will remove all the flakes before you attempt to seal the inner surface, you can do it manualy but it's tiring long work shaking a tank with a few Kgs of stones in it trust me

yeah try the cement mixer trick , hand full of nuts n bolts
if you get all the lose curse word out it should stay okay if in use with the fuel sloshing about

I shall give that trick a go. Will save me a few quid if it works. Don't think it's flaking off. Just general corrosion dust causing me problems

I've used the POR15 fuel tank sealing system before. It does what it says on the tin but like anything from POR15 you need to follow the instructions to the letter. Plus the quoted drying time... double it at least.... if fuel gets onto the sealant before it is fully hardened the fuel lines end up clogged with rubbery gunk.
